Yamegi Hulin

 

This page has been included in my website as a tribute to the best horse I have ever known...

Hulin has been with me for over 13 years and in that time we have competed together in so many different equestrian events. This is truly a versatile Arabian. Hulin, as a stallion, achieved many Championships at Halter and Supreme of Supremes. He has his Champion Roll of Merit in both Halter and Performance.  

Under saddle he has rarely been unplaced, in breed ridden and even achieving Champion Galloway in the official hack ring at the Autumn Horse Show. He then went on to surpass even that feat by winning Supreme of Supremes ridden exhibit at the 2000 Autumn Horse Show with my daughter Taryn (14yrs at the time) riding.

Hulin also competed in the Arabian Costume classes, for some time undefeated. He has also represented the WA Arabian Society in costume for some years at the Night of Stars, and became a TV star on WOW with Chris Mainwaring aboard! He has competed in novelties, one day events, dressage days and endurance. Hulin is the best horse to pleasure ride and he loves the beach!

In 2002 it was decided to geld him, as we have a couple of his daughters to breed on with and I wanted to compete in more open company with him. Hulin has completed 2 seasons at Perth H&PC achieving Galloway of the year and Runner Up. He then went on to compete at Perth zooming round the Showjumping with Taryn, then changing riders to do a more sedate dressage test with myself!  Hulin's 2 daughters, have both produced foals, and so far only fillies!!!

These days Hulin is enjoying retirement, (he is an excellent "uncle" to the newly weaned youngsters) although he still enjoys the occasional pleasure ride and unofficial hack day.
