As with most "horsey" people I was born with a passion for horses. I learned to ride the arm of our sofa long before ever coming into contact with a live pony. I spent most of my childhood dreaming of owning a horse. Every time we visited the Perth Zoo or the Peppermint Grove foreshore I would not give up until I got a ride on the Merry-Go-Round! My parents often wondered where this love came from as they were definitely not "horsey"

I started riding when I was 9 and then during a visit to England when I was 12, I had the fantastic opportunity to really learn to ride. I attended some of the finest riding establishments in the UK. On our return to Australia my parents purchased my first horse - a fantastic 15 year old A Grade Showjumper named "Chessman".  Since then I have never been with out Equine companions.

My first foal was actually an Appaloosa, from a solid chestnut Appaloosa mare I purchased as a riding horse, but it wasn't until 1990 that I purchased a Thoroughbred mare and had her put in foal to an Arabian stallion that I got bitten by the "Arab bug".

While eagerly awaiting the arrival of our first Arabian bred foal, I heard of the unfortunate demise of the owner of the stud where we purchased this mare, and decided to take the advice of a friend and have a look at a couple of Arabian mares that were not purchased at the stud's dispersal auction. There were only 4 mares left - 2 were not for sale as they were aged, but Scimitar Rima (in foal to Ricardo) and Yamegi Galena were lovely old ladies and I had to have them.

While walking back to the car I noticed that their Thoroughbred stallion, Triple Optimist (Sparky), that I had admired for some time was still in his yard.  So, after deciding to have a look for one mare I came home with 2 mares, one in foal and a stallion as well!  And just for good measure my young friend Kerry, bought their last born colt 8 month old Yamegi Dhayaal!  Since then I have never looked back. Unfortunately Rima passed away in 2002 at 28yrs, and old Galena, passed away in 2007 at 31years, but if you continue on through the pages of our web site you will meet the newer members of...
